KAREN
The photos below are of Karen, a
beautiful young Lady, who I had the privilege to know, and spend time with. She
died at the age of three in April 2009, from Leukaemia, due to lack of
diagnostic, and treatment facilities. RSI are committed to addressing the need
for better healthcare, and are opening their first clinic, in Kamukata, North of
Kimilili, Western Kenya, around October 2011.

if the next step you contemplate is going to be of any use to him"

------------------------------
I first went to Kenya in 2008, as a volunteer for the OMWABINI RESCUE STEPS CHARITY, an AIDS orphans and widows charity, based at Kimilili, Western Kenya. I worked on various projects including construction, teaching and working with music therapy, and the RESCUE STEPS GOSPEL CHOIR. Annie Symons and myself became involved with the charity, and started to send out clothes for the children. We then sourced medical supplies, and put on talent competitions in East Sussex, UK, in order to be able to pay for the shipment of supplies.
OMWABINI have since gone from strength to strength, so much so, that in November 2010, Annie and I decided to form our own charity, in order to allow our aid efforts reach a larger number of people.
RSI are sending medical, educational supplies, bicycles, building supplies, mobile phones and volunteers to Kenya. Supplies are sent in 20ft. shipping containers, which will then utilized as medical clinics. We will be erecting clinics in the Mount Elgon/Greater Bungoma district of Western Kenya. Click HERE for details of our first project, to be in place by November 2011.
We will be sending our own team of nurses to train locals, and instigate community awareness programmes, as we believe that prevention of diseases such as Malaria, Typhoid, Cholera, AIDS, and Jiggers, is paramount. There will be many micro projects, and we will supply help to start projects in villages, and then hand them over for the locals.

This shipment for the centre, which is clothing and educational material, arrived at the centre early 2010. below is a picture of clothing being donated by Crosby Menswear, Broad Street, Seaford Sussex. Owner Dave Wink, second from right, and his staff, very kindly let us have all these wonderful uniforms for the kids and help load it all up.. It was a very generous, and much appreciated donation. Thank you Dave.
Next to me is the beautiful Annie Symons, without whose help and tolerance of my weird and wonderful ideas, none of this would never have come to fruition. Thanks Princess.

Below are pictures of the children in the clothes that Dave Wink and his staff supplied at Crosby's, Seaford.UK
A shipment of clothes and medical supplies was sent out on 6th. Feb 2010
